Empower the Community

The Foundation’s mission is to unite community members to mobilize resources to advance a racially just society and equitable outcomes for residents of west Cook County. 

That’s no small thing. To achieve it we meet regularly with local leaders, donors, grantee partners, and local residents to learn more about the challenges our communities face and the opportunities to help each other. We make grants to nonprofit organizations that provide aid to those in need, and offer workshops to help the leaders of those organizations achieve even more. We work with local philanthropists — individuals and groups of like-minded people who want to make a difference in our region — to help them direct their charitable giving. And we manage a wide range of scholarships and educational enrichment grants available to those young and old seeking to begin or expand their educational journey.
